The Safari vehicle gets you closer to the wildlife

With the new Toyota Land Cruiser Game Viewer, which has very little in common with the original model, the Nordic region’s largest game reserve can now be enjoyed in a way that has not been possible before. The car has been customised to take visitors out in all weathers at any time of the day or night – from hot summer days to icy winter nights.

”We want to get as close to the wildlife as possible in order to create a real presence and to maximise the experience of the natural world, all year round, and with lots of options. Perhaps you would like a sundowner with food and drink at sunset, or you might want to spend all of your time observing as many species as possible”, says Per-Arne Olsson, CEO of Eriksberg Hotel & Nature Reserve.

The car is a substantially modified, four-wheel drive Toyota Land Cruiser, with the original a common sight on the savanna or in the bush on the African continent. It has been converted by a specialist firm in the Netherlands and is now fully ready for its first tour. Moreover, the initiative will move the Nordic region and Sweden onto the international stage for safari experiences.

”The car is a part of Eriksberg’s focus on reaching out to the international market. Why go to Africa – when you can go to Blekinge?” Per-Arne Olsson concludes.

Facts about the safari vehicle

The safari vehicle, a 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser, has been rebuilt over the course of four months by FD 4x4 Centre in Holland to suit the needs of Eriksberg. It is based on the 30th Anniversary Special Edition Toyota Landcruiser HZJ79. Based on Toyota Landcruiser HZJ79 pickup, Special edition 30th Anniversary.

● The chassis has been stretched with 85cm to create enough space to accommodate 8 guests comfortable in the rear cabin

● The cabin is designed such that every guest has a great view outside through sliding windows and has 2 big pop-up roofs for viewing outside with binoculars or camera

● The cabin has heating & air conditioning, power plugs to charge phones & camera’s, cabinet with build-in fridge

● The driver/guide has direct contact with the guests in the open cabin
