Spacious double room in warm reddish-brown colours with a big veranda and beautiful view over the Savannah. Located in Safarivillan, which has an exciting design with high ceilings and many windows giving it beautiful light, space and character. Breakfast is enjoyed in the restaurant Visenten, but, if you prefer, it can be served in bed or on the veranda so you can enjoy the seclusion and being close to nature.

Buffeln (the buffalo)

Bengt Berg writes quite a lot about buffalo in his book ”Farligt storvilt” (Dangerous Big Game, 1959), in which he also writes about his first mistake with this big game when he set off on a film expedition in Africa without taking a rifle. He had not expected to meet buffalo, though they turned out to be plentiful up by the White Nile. The first time Bengt Berg had a close encounter with a buffalo, his legs and camera shook. And when the buffalo disappeared, the result was just a ‘blur’ on the film. This taught Bengt Berg, however, that the speed of the animal is the important thing when it comes to how dangerous it is to humans, who are slow.
